The Competition Pipe this year is provided by Tsuge of Japan. All pipes will be stamped "UPCA National, Chicago 2005". This will be the third pipe in the contest series marked with contest location and date, making this another collector's item.
TOBACCO
The 2005 tobacco was Scottish Ribbon by Connoisseur (Ed Burak). Ed describes this as "a rubbed out flake of fermented Virginia. It is an all natural tobacco, with no water or other ingredients added."
Samples can be ordered from the Connoisseur Pipe Shop, 212-247-6054, M-F 10:15 am to 5:30 pm. Price: 2 oz./$6.95, 8 oz./22.50, plus tax and postage.
TAMPERS
were also provided by Tsuge of Japan.
